Registering a SecureKey for RSA

Summary

This article will go over registering a new option known as a passkey, and using it to authenticate a sign in.

Body

With the implementation of RSA for our authentication method, we are now able to sign into our TSTC OneID Accounts using a variety of methods. This article will go over registering a new option known as a passkey, and using it to authenticate a sign in. 
 

1. Navigate to the application dashboard by first going to login.tstc.edu and signing in, once you are logged in on the left hand side you should see an option titled “My Authenticators”.  When selecting this option you should notice a box titled “Passkey”, this is what we will be using to register your secure key. 

2. When clicked you should be guided through the following steps to register your security key. 

You must first insert the key into your computer's USB port, once it has been recognized by your computer you should receive a security notification. 

3. When prompted, select “Security key” and hit next, you will be shown the following  prompts to complete registering your key to your TSTC OneID Account. 



 

4. After you have completed the set up prompts, you should be asked to enter a pin for your security key, this pin will be used when signing in using your secure key.

5. After you have entered a valid pin you will be asked to hit a button on your secure key to complete registration

6. After completing the steps above you should now see that your Secure key registration as successful and should now be listed as an option listed under your authentication methods in your application dashboard 

 

 

Signing in with a Secure Key

  1. When signing in to login.tstc.edu, select the 3rd option titled “Passkey” you should see a different sign in screen, on this screen all you will need to do is enter your userID and hit submit. Keep in mind that you must have you secure key plugged in at the time of sign in.




 

  1. After you hit submit you will be prompted to select your security key and hit next, from there all you will need to do its enter your pin, and then tap your secure key   






 

  1. Once you complete the last step, it should resolve the sign in and take you into your application dashboard
