Student Guide on Enrolling an RSA Authenticator

A guide on setting up an RSA authenticator on student accounts.

This guide can be used to help students set up an additional authentication method known as the RSA Authentication phone app.  While by default they will have their phone number added to authenticate, adding an additional authentication method allows them access to alternative sign in methods. 

 

1.  After you have signed into your TSTC OneID account, on the left hand side you should see an option titled "My Authenticators", go ahead and select that option and view the following page.  To begin the process, select "Register an Authenticator"

2. When prompted for choices go ahead and select the first option, the RSA Authenticator App

3.  Follow the instructions on screen and download the RSA application on your phone, and when ready hit "Next".  The next screen will be the registration screen, at this step you will notice a QR code has been generated for you to scan.

4. Using your device, simply open the RSA App on your phone and select the "QR scan" option at the bottom of the screen to scan the QR code. If successful you should see a message that your credential information has been imported into the RSA authentication app

5. Once your device has been registered the screen on your computer should show the following message, from here select “Test Now” to send a push prompt to your phone to approve.

6. You have now completed setting up your new RSA Authentication method, the next time you sign in you can select "Show More" to sign in using alternative methods other then user-name and password.
