Reporting Spam Email

Summary

Instructions we can send to the end user on how to send us the downloaded file when reporting a spam email to the helpdesk email.

Body

When a user reports an email as suspicious to the help desk email we will need a downloaded copy of that email before before we can escalate the ticket to our security team. Within the downloaded copy there are details needed to properly block the sender.

  1. In gmail navigate to the email you are needing to download and select the 3 dots on the right side of the email
  2. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Once you select the 3 dots a menu should pop up with options listed, at the bottom will be the "Download message" option Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. When you select this it will allow you to save the file to your downloads, by default it will show with an icon of your default email application, you will not need to open the email just save it to your downloads or desktop  Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Once it is saved, you can send it via google chat via dragging the file into google chat with the Tech you are working with, or email it as an attachment to the TSTC helpdesk at the time of reporting the suspicious email.
