If you want to make sure certain links and files are safe to open or go to you can alway use the VIRUSTOTAL website HERE.
Depending on what you want to scan just select File, URL, or SEARCH
If you have a file select file and then choose the file and it will scan the contents of the file
If you have a URL that you are unsure of you can select URLand paste it in the
After the link is scanned the results will come back all green.
The link and files will be checked with all the top detection tools like Malwarebytes and Kaspersky.
If anything gets detected, it will come back with a Yellow or Red indication by that specific detection tool.
If the scan comes back with just one or two hits by a detection this does not mean that link or file is bad.
It just might not have enough information on that link or file. It's still best to use your best judgement.
