What are course evaluations?
The end of course evaluation is your opportunity to provide insightful feedback to your instructor and to TSTC about your experience in each course and with each instructor that you had during a semester. The end of course evaluation process involves two-parts: an evaluation of your course and an evaluation of your instructor.
Can my instructor see my evaluations?
Confidentiality of your evaluations is of the utmost importance to TSTC. Your evaluation is provided to your instructor anonymously. Instructors will not know what feedback was provided by any specific student. Instructors will not have access to the survey results until after final grades are submitted.
How do I access course evaluations?
Accessing Through the Emailed Link
At the end of every semester you will receive an email informing you that the end of course evaluations are available. Within the email you will receive a link that directs you to the course evaluation page (see Figure 1). From the course evaluation page you will be able to view all of your courses for which evaluations are available. The status of the evaluation will indicate “To Do” if you have not yet completed it. To complete an evaluation you click “Evaluate Course”, which will take you directly to the course evaluation form. Once you have completed the course evaluation form, you will automatically be redirected to the instructor evaluation form of the instructor who taught that course.
Once you have completed both the course evaluation and the instructor evaluation for a course, the status will change to “Done”
It is possible to complete an instructor evaluation form first and then complete the course evaluation form second. If you wish to complete an instructor evaluation first, select the drop-down arrow on the left side of your screen for the course you would like to evaluate. You will then see access to both the “Evaluate Course” and “Evaluate Instructor” options
If you choose to evaluate the instructor of your course first, you will automatically be redirected to the course evaluation form after completion of the instructor evaluation form. Once complete, the status will change to “Done”.
Accessing Through Canvas
End of course evaluations can also be accessed through Canvas. If you are logged into Canvas you will see the “Course Evaluations” tab from the selection menu on the left-hand side of your screen. If you click “Course Evaluations”, you will be directed to the same landing page as the link provided via email. From there you can select the evaluation that you wish to complete.
