This is a guide on setup of the chromebooks that are currently in the possession of the veteran recruiting department. They intend for prospective students to use these instead of having to use the employee computers to apply. These are the chromebooks that were originally used for Michael Bettersworth's Calibrate events in 2020. He has given the go ahead to repurpose them and do what we need to with them.
There are two accounts on the machines: students@tstc.edu (for prospective students, etc) and the account for administrators, chromebooks@tstc.edu. That is currently named Calibrate but should be oitadmin shortly. The password for the Students account is T$tc1965. The administrator account does not use the normal OIT password. Instead, the password for it is &fx^Rz8Y3.
Everything should be unpinned from the students account's taskbar except for Google Chrome. Chrome should have a few pages bookmarked and set as its default pages: the tstc homepage (tstc.edu), Webadvisor (webadvisor.tstc.edu), and the Portal (portal.tstc.edu). The Students account should have a tstc wallpaper as well.
Any other needs can be added as time goes on, and once a change is made on one machine it should carry over into the other machines using the same account.
UPDATE 4/5/23: The chromebooks@tstc.edu address is not to be used for the admin account. It is not wanting to lose the Calibrate name. Instead, I've asked for an oitchromebooks@tstc.edu account be made for us. Same password as before.
