Purchasing Software

Before purchasing software at TSTC, you must make sure that the software has been approved by OIT Security and has gone through the RSolution process (if applicable). This article is to assist you with finding and purchasing software.

What kind of software purchases need to be reviewed?

  • All software purchases made with a PCard

  • All software purchases made with a Purchase Order

  • All software that goes through the RFP process

  • All software purchases made with grant money

  • All FREE software

  • All applications on mobile devices

I know what software I want to purchase.

 

  1. Review this spreadsheet to see if the software you wish to purchase or use is approved or not approved for use. 

  2. If the software is not approved or not on the list, then complete an OIT Project Request Form of the specific software you wish to purchase and the objectives you would like the software to meet. 

    1. Please include a link to the website for the vendor and any additional information about the software you wish to have reviewed. ​​​​​​

  3. If the software you wish to purchase is on the list and approved, place a requisition in the Workday system.

    1. If you intend to purchase with a Pcard, place a request in the Help Desk Ticket system so that the software can be reviewed for compliance and OIT can work with the contracts team to ensure that the software contract has been properly reviewed.

I don’t know the specific software, but know the functionality needed from the software. 

 

  1. Go to the TSTC portal

  2. Click on request

  3. Select IT Solutions Project Request

  4. Fill out the form
