How to disable Fast Startup

What is Fast Start?

Fast Startup is a Windows 10 feature designed to reduce the time it takes for the computer to boot up from being fully shut down. However, it prevents the computer from performing a regular shutdown and can cause compatibility issues with devices that do not support sleep mode or hibernation. 

How to disable Fast Startup:

1. Open settings
2. Click on System
3. Click on Power and Sleep on the left hand side
4. Click on "Additional power settings"
5. Click on the "Choose what the power buttons do" option on the left
6. Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
7. Uncheck the "Turn on Fast Startup (Recommended)" tick box
8. Click Save Changes
9. Close all open settings screens
